Description

The #1 New York Times-bestselling author presents a riveting novel where a canine search and rescue volunteer fights danger and finds love in the Pacific Northwest wilderness.

To most people, Fiona Bristow seems to have an idyllic life-a quaint house on an island off Seattle's coast, a thriving dog-training school, and a challenging volunteer job performing canine search and rescues. Not to mention her three intensely loyal Labs. But Fiona got to this point by surviving a nightmare...

Several years ago, Fiona was the only survivor of the Red Scarf serial killer, who shot and killed Fiona's cop fiancé and his K-9 partner.

On Orcas Island, Fiona found the peace and solitude she needed to rebuild her life. But all that changes on the day Simon Doyle barrels up her drive, desperate for her help. He's the reluctant owner of an out-of-control puppy, foisted upon him by his mother. Jaws has eaten through Simon's house, and he's at his wit's end.

To Fiona, Jaws is nothing she can't handle. Simon, however, is another matter. A newcomer to Orcas, he's a rugged and in-tensely private artist, known for the exquisite furniture he creates from wood. Simon never wanted a puppy-and he most definitely doesn't want a woman. Besides, the lanky redhead is not his type. But tell that to his hormones.

As Fiona embarks on training Jaws, and Simon begins to appreciate both dog and trainer, the past tears back into Fiona's life. A copycat killer has emerged out of the shadows, a man whose bloodlust has been channeled by a master with one motive: to reclaim the woman who slipped out of his hands...

Good reading
Very good reading. Once I started I wanted to keep reading to see what happened.
Wow! This was painful!
I'm a huge Nora Roberts fan. 'The Search' is the most frustrating book of hers that I've ever read. This book was so bad I had to leave a review which I've never done before. The bits about the dogs wasn't what was so off putting. It was her characterizations. I don't know if she realized she wasn't writing a J.D Robb book. The hero and heroine were having conversations as if they were the profilers of the killer, and psychologists that could assess what another human being is feeling without having been told in the first place. I couldn't finish it I was so disgusted. This book had so much potential to be another 'High Noon'
Enjoyable read
This was a fantastic book and definitely one that could be made into a Lifetime movie, like some of her other books have. I love dogs so it was great to get to learn about some of the behavorial problems that they have and how the dog trainer helps to cure those problems. My husband and I vacation on Orcas Island quite often so it was nice to read a book that used the island as its setting, it's such a beautiful place.
My confidence in Nora R. restored!
I really enjoyed this latest release from Nora Roberts. My confidence in her as a writer has been restored with this book. I've been a fan of Ms. Roberts for over 20 years, and have found with some authors, their characters start to all sound the same. In some of her recent releases, I felt the dialog was too close to Eve Dallas. Eve's thinking and talking process is very unique to her character. I certainly hoped Ms. Roberts was not becoming a predictable writer. In "THE SEARCH" I enjoyed getting to know the characters, but unlike some readers, was not bored with the dog training. I felt the core lessons being taught to the dogs tied into the main story line very well. I really enjoyed Simon too. He was funny and frustrating - like some men in my life. I love how Nora Roberts books introduces the reader to different parts of the world, and different careers/interests of the main characters. From scuba diving for treasure in "The Reef" to being in Ireland in the "Irish Jewels Trilogy" to Daniel MacGregor matchmaking his children and grandchildren to going off-planet in the J.D. Robb Series, I can stay home and be transported by Ms. Roberts words. Nora Roberts provides me with mystery, romance, humor, and suspense - whatever my mood, she has a book that will grab my interest. I eagerly await each new release and hope she has so many stories in her head that she is unable to retire until I am too old to read!
Better luck next time...
I am a huge Nora Roberts fan as well as a dog lover. While the training narratives were not boring for me because I am very interested in search and rescue, the rest of the book fell short of my expectations. Plus, where did her language come from. I don't remember her main characters cussing so much. I thought that was a bit over the top for my tastes. I think Nora Roberts' storytelling is much better in her Bride quartet that she has going now. I agree with one other review I read, it wasn't one of hers that I just couldn't put down until I was done. Better luck next time!

Just OK
I think that Nora Roberts is losing her creativity. This book was just OK. It was too predictable and it really did not have any conflict to keep you wanting to read. Just another typical love story nothing more, nothing less.
A Great Third Helping of the Bride Quartet Series
Love this one too! I loved the first two books in the series when I borrowed them from a friend and couldn't wait to borrow this one from her too. Since then I've purchased this book and the first two books ("Vision in White" and "Bed of Roses") for my kindle. I can't wait for the fourth book to come out (November 2010 is a long time away)so I can re-read all the books one right after another. Definately recommend this book to anyone.
More, Please!
I'm a big fan of Nora Roberts and this series is one of her better ones. Book 3 wasn't lacking, and was as good as I'd imagined it to be. Ms. Roberts has such a way with words, that I'm not sure that I've ever read a bad Nora Roberts books, even though you could say that the plot, and all that went with this was "predictable," she has a way of writing that allows you to really "know" the characters and feel happy, sad, mad, etc., so to me, that's what makes a good writer.

Ms. Roberts delivered on this one, #3 in the Bride Quartet series, and I can hardly wait for the last one to come out. I hope it doesn't end there, because each character is rich and alive on the pages, that so much more can be said and done, that she could write forever about these individuals.

A lighthearted read, easy, fun, and worth it. Thank you for reading my review.
Savor the Moment
I had never read Nora Roberts before but really enjoy the Bride Quartet series. I love the way the lives of the principal characters all interact with one another. I really recommend that the books be read in order, however. I can hardly wait until the final book comes out in November.
Good book
This third book in the "Bride Series" Quartet is good but not up to the other two. I hope the final book rises back up to what Nora Roberts can do when she puts forth her best effort.

Just what I would expect
A must read - but read the other 2 first. This Trilogy is great one and Nora Roberts knows how to keep your interest
The best one out of the three in this series!
You can usually predict that the third one is the best but this one was especially wonderful because there are a lot of single moms out there that the dads just don't do what you expected of them as fathers...I'm one of them. Although like in my story this story has a knight in shining armor to take charge with Laura and her darling daughters!!! Perfect ending to this series!
Trilogy of Dreams....
I can't seem to find the right words to express my love for the "Dream" trilogy, so I'll just say if you don't read it you're doing yourself a great injustice. I never thought I would find another series like Nora's "Born In" trilogy, but I did, and I have to say that I enjoyed this one more. I'm once again so very sad that I will never be able to read these books again for the very first time. Keep dreaming!!!
Loved it!
I absolutely loved all three books of the Dream Trilogy! All in all, I was sorry when the last book came to an end. I felt like Margo, Kate, and Laura were my friends and I hated to leave them. I would have liked to have read a fourth book incorporating Laura and Michael's marriage and the arrival of their children; Tommy and Susie's story; and more of Annie's story.

When an author writes a story that makes you want more, you can say that he/she is a great success. Needless to say, Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors.

Margo Sullivan had everything she could ask for. The daughter of the Templetons' stern housekeeper, she was treated like a member of the family. But money could not buy the thing she craved most-her mother's acceptance...
Set in Monterey, California, this first novel in the Dream trilogy features Margo Sullivan, the feisty and beautiful daughter of a wealthy family's housekeeper. She's been offered the same privileges as the Templeton children, but Margo resents handouts. She feels she has much to prove to herself, her surrogate family, and her mother. Margo dreams big--she wants wealth, fame, and success--but she doesn't want anyone else's help. Her plan is to go as far away from home as possible, so she starts with Hollywood and then moves on to Europe, where she finds fame as a supermodel. But when her world comes crashing down around her, Margo discovers that reaching out for help--especially to your family--can be just as challenging and rewarding as solving your problems on your own.

A thought provoking start to a new trilogy
I am a big fan of Nora Roberts, especially her trilogies - there's something utterly delicious about knowing that when you finish one book, there's another one ready for you. I was a little unsure of how I would enjoy this book. Like many of the reviewers, I wondered if I would ever warm to Margo. She probably encapsulates everything most women dislike about gorgeous model types, however as I stayed with the story, I found that Margo did get into my heart. Yes, she's brash, cocky and totally beautiful but when you get past her facade, to me she is a woman that I would be proud to call a friend.
I loved her spats with Josh and her vulnerability at times got to to me. Her desire to be someone, to be a success because she thinks it's the only way the people around her will really think anything of her reminds me of a lot of people and I enjoyed the ride I took with Margo. She made me laugh out loud at times and I loved her for this. (I don't normally laugh out loud when I'm reading!)
A book that you will enjoy and be sorry to put down.
domestic violence is so sexy
I'm not familiar with the Romance genre. I thought I'd try something new, recognized Roberts' name from the bestseller lists, and bought this thing. Mistake. I only got to page 256, so read my review with that in mind.

This book features: poor writing (unsignalled point of view shifts happen multiple times), shallow and unlikeable characters with little or no actual emotional attachment to one another, and a control freak hero who constantly demeans and belittles the heroine. During arguments he also grabs her, slings her around like a caveman, topples her into a full bathtub and holds her head under the water.

But its not violence because he looooves her? It's okay because it just shows how passionate and out of control he is over her? Or maybe its okay because he's being playful. As long as he doesn't *intend* to hurt her that makes it all right, right? Seriously, I cannot imagine in what world anyone would find this behavior romantic. It certainly isn't legal.

Anyway, I threw the book in the trash.
Enjoyable
Very easy read. I have never read nora roberts but this book will keep me coming back for more. It is very seductive and has alot of very sensual scenes in the book. I really enjoyed it.
UGH!---
Two shallow people end up together after a lot of whining and bickering. They deserved each other and I deserved a better story that didn't waste my time.
Great story
Nora Roberts is a great story teller, she knows how to keep you interested in her books. This triology makes you want to buy all the books. Its a great tale of three friends that were all from totally different families and who became the best of friends who were there whenever they were in trouble. No matter what family crisis arose, they could always count on each other. You show them as they were growing up and all the problems that each encountered. It was nice seeing them search for a hidden treasure all their lives and finally find it when they least expected it. It was a great finish to the books. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a Nora Roberts fan.

A Great Second Book in the Bride Quartet Series
I couldn't wait to start this one after I read the first book "Vision in White." I love series because I get attached to the characters. I love being able to pick up the next book and see what happens to them. This in a definate must read. I've read this one twice (once in paperback and once on my kindle). I'll probably re-read it again as soon as the 4th book comes out.
The Bride Quartet, Book 2
Loved book and can't wait for the last quartet to arrive in November! Great book about friendship!
Great Book
Nora Roberts does it again. I'm anxious to read the next book in this series.
I loved this book and the first one
This is the 2rd book in this 4 part series from Nora Roberts and I loved this book and the first one. In this book you follow Emma the florist at Vows and her journey through life and love. It is not action packed or a mystery, etc but just a great story with relatable characters that you fall in love with. I would recommend this book to people who like romance stories with strong women and men you can't help but love. I have also read the 3rd book Savor the Moment and loved it too. I cannot wait for the 4th and final book to come out in December 2010.
great book
I loved all three books in this series. I would recommend all of them
