Description

A man lies dead in a graveyard. A single dry wound in his chest refuses to heal, and a pool of his blood has soaked the ground around the foot of a chalice. Why was he killed, and how, and who in this hamlet wanted him dead?

Constable John Gregg is dispatched to investigate, sketching the suspects as he conducts his interviews, and inspecting the pictures for clues that otherwise might remain unseen.

It isn't long before he discovers that everyone - from the vicar and his wife to the curious conjoined twins and even the wealthy matriarch - had a reason to kill this man.

But only one has committed a crime worse than murder.
